Important Information for Service Voters

Earlier this year, as part of the move to Individual Electoral Registration (IER), a new system of online registration was introduced. This means that if you're based in the UK and unlikely to change address or be posted overseas in the next few months, you can register to vote online at

There's also an option to register as a 'Service Voter'. This allows you to be registered for five years at a fixed address in England, Scotland or Wales even if you move around. This is particularly handy if you are already based overseas or think that you may be posted abroad in the next few months. If you're part of a Service family - your husband, wife or civil partner can also register as a 'Service Voter'.

UK TROOPS will be heading to Manchester City Women’s Academy Stadium tomorrow (9 April) to cheer on England Women as they face China in their last home game before this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The FA have donated tickets to HM Armed Forces through military charity Tickets For Troops ( to enable service personnel to enjoy some well-deserved time off from duty whilst supporting our nation’s women’s team.

The match will be the final send-off for the Three Lionesses before they travel to Canada to face France (9 June), Mexico (13 June) and Colombia (17 June) in Group F.

Fara Wiliams, England Women’s midfielder said "It's great to have the support of the troops at our game in Manchester. It's a really important one for us as it's our last home match before we head off to the World Cup."

Veronica Bamford, Director of Operations at Tickets For Troops said “We’re extremely grateful to the FA for yet again supporting our nations heroes. The women’s team can certainly expect a warm welcome from the troops and we wish them all the best in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”

Tickets For Troops ( was set up in 2009 to recognise the brave servicemen and women who spend months away from their families, need to be available to serve at short notice and put their lives on the line for our country.

They recognise the troops’ commitment, drive and dedication by offering them, on behalf of their donors, tickets to events which they can share with their loved ones, as a small acknowledgement of the work they do.

Tickets For Troops has allocated over 650,000 tickets to our nation’s heroes in the last five years demonstrating the enormous support and respect our UK sports, music, theatre and entertainment industries have for our military men and women.

The charity has over 140,000 military members registered and troops have been given access to tickets for many prestigious events including, The London Olympics and Paralympics, The BRIT Awards, the Isle of Wight Festival, Formula One British Grand Prix, the FA Cup and many others.
