MOD’s JCCC launches new app and briefing films

  
The Ministry of Defence’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC) has launched a new mobile app, MOD ICE, and two briefing films to help service personnel and their families access their services, with support from the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach KCB CBE ADC DL BA MPhil DTech DLitt RAF.

The JCCC, part of Defence Business Services (DBS), provides a focal point for casualty administration and notification and requests for compassionate travel (for those personnel serving overseas) in respect of members of the British armed forces at any time and will take immediate action for service personnel and their families when an emergency occurs.

Vice Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach said: “The role that the JCCC undertakes in Defence is a key part of the Military Covenant. Service Personnel must be confident that there is a dedicated organisation providing immediate support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to all in uniform and their loved ones, should an incident occur.

Have Your Say! Children's Commissioner of Wales Survey

The Children's Commissioner for Wales, Sally Holland has launched online surveys for children and young people, parents and professionals to 'Have their Say' asking what she should focus on as her priorities as Commissioner over the next three years. It is a great opportunity to directly raise the potential impacts upon Service children and their families as well as the potential challenges that education professionals and support organisations face.

Simple Steps for Winter Preparation for SFA



Service personnel and their families living in SFA are reminded that there are some very simple steps they need to take to prepare their properties for the winter months.
  Top Tips:
  • Check your heating before winter sets in and if there any issues call the CarillionAmey Helpdesk on 0800 707 6000 option 1.
  • Check the outside of the property looking up at the guttering and roof for any signs of damage and make sure that any overspill pipes are not trickling water. 

Call the Helpdesk on 0800 707 6000 option 1 to report any issues.

The CA Helpdesk gets particularly busy on Mondays, so try calling on other weekdays if the issue isn’t urgent.

The scheme is available to those new enterprises setting up in England only and the grant is designed to cover start-up costs such as insurance, training and equipment etc.
Applications are required before the end of Dec 2015.
